Charity Shirt of the Month: Project Wake Up
100% of the profits are donated to the organization
Project Wake Up was founded at the University of Missouri in 2014 by a group of friends after losing two of their own to suicide. With a mission to eradicate the stigmas surrounding mental illness and suicide, the nonprofit produced a feature-length documentary, 'Wake Up: Stories from the Frontlines of Suicide Prevention,' which premiered digitally at We Are One: A Global Film Festival, hosted on YouTube and curated by Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca and more than 20 other film festivals.
Based in St. Louis, Project Wake Up hosts numerous major events every year: A trivia night and silent auction in the winter, the Ryan J. Candice Memorial Golf Tournament every fall, and an annual comedy night. Moving forward, Project Wake Up intends to produce additional documentary content, fund the Ryan J. Candice Memorial Scholarship at the University of Missouri, and is working to provide mental healthcare and therapy access to underserved communities in the St. Louis area.
